How do I request an Exam or Desk Copy?

To request a desk or exam copy please click here for more information and fax your request to 703-907-1091 on your school or department letterhead. Books should be shipped within 10 business days.



Are current American Psychiatric Association (APA) members entitled to a discount?
If you are an American Psychiatric Association (APA) member, you are entitled to a 20% discount on all book orders. APA Resident-Fellow Members are entitled to a 25% discount on all book orders. The pricing for journal and PsychiatryOnline.org subscriptions already reflects the discount so no additional APA Member and APA Resident-Fellow Member discounts will be applied to subscriptions. Your discount will automatically be applied when you order on our website. For information about becoming an APA member, please go to www.psychiatry.org.


How long will it take to receive my order?
Book orders will arrive in 5-10 business days. A shipping confirmation will be sent to your email address when your order is shipped. For journal subscriptions, the first issue will arrive at the beginning of the month corresponding to the journal's issue date. Back issues will arrive in 3-5 weeks. Please allow an extra 2 weeks for international destinations.

What is PsychiatryOnline.org and where can I subscribe?

PsychiatryOnline.org offers online access to DSM-5 plus other trusted references for diagnosis, treatment, research, and lifelong learning. Subscribe to DSM Select for Individuals.



What is FOCUS?
FOCUS is a quarterly journal which provides a comprehensive review of content based on ABPN recertification exam. Each issue includes a CME exam and a subscriber could receive 5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for a total of 20 per year. An additional 20 hours can be earned through the completion of the Self-Assessment Exam which is sent with year’s final issue – Fall. The maximum number of credits available is 40. Subscriptions are based on the calendar year with January (Winter issue) as the first issue. If you subscribe in the middle of the year you will be sent any issues from that volume that have already been published.


Is the AJP CME available for free for APA Members?

APA Members must purchase the American Journal of Psychiatry CME in order to access the quizzes and earn CME credit. For more information or to purchase the AJP CME please click here. 



How do I access my online journals?
Go to PsychiatryOnline.org and enter in your username and password. Note that usernames and passwords are case sensitive.


How can I get a copy of an invoice?
Please call Customer Service at 800-368-5777 or login to your account to access your order details.


Does American Psychiatric Publishing accept purchase orders?
Yes, we accept purchase orders for orders above $250. Credit card payment is required for orders less than $250.00  Bookstores and institutions may fax purchase orders to 703-907-1091. Please include your email address for shipping confirmation.


How can I change the address for my journal subscription?
You can login to your account at www.appi.org to update this information. You can also email us at appi@psych.org. Please provide your old and new address in your request.


How will my order be shipped?
Standard shipping is via UPS ground. We require a street address to ship your order and cannot ship to PO boxes or APO addresses. Please contact Customer Service for next day delivery information and pricing. Your order should arrive within 5 business days after it has shipped from our warehouse.


How do I know if my order was accepted?

If the confirmation page appears on the site after you place your order, then your order has been received by us. You will also receive a confirmation email after placing your order online.  



What if I received an error message?
If you received an error after submitting your online order, please contact us directly, either via email at appi@psych.org or via phone 800-368-5777 or 703-907-7322 (M-F 9:00am-5:30pm ET).


Where can I get the most recent information on a book?
APP's web site is updated daily and has the latest information and prices on each title.


How do I know if a book is currently in stock?
Unless otherwise noted all titles are in stock and will be available for shipping as soon as the order is received. If a title is listed as 'Coming Soon!' on the top of the page, it has not yet been published. However, you can place an order for this title and it will be shipped as soon as it becomes available.



What payment methods does American Psychiatric Publishing accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. Checks are accepted by mail only and should be made payable to American Psychiatric Publishing, Inc. For information on electronic transfers, please click here.

 



How do I activate my online journal subscription?
Your subscription is automatically activated upon purchase. Go to PsychiatryOnline.org and enter your username and password.


What is APP's Purchase Order Policy
